A private, architect-designed home with its own small vineyard in Shoreham, a solar-heated infinity pool and a double-sided wood fire at the centre of the living room. Three bedrooms plus a queen futon downstairs sleep eight. Wineries, Flinders and the surf beaches are a short drive away. There are stairs throughout the house.
Good to know
Amberley sits among rolling hills on the southern Mornington Peninsula, with vines running right beside the pool. Big windows and bifold doors open the living areas to the garden and the bush, and kangaroos, kookaburras and possums are regular visitors. Living and kitchen The main level has vaulted ceilings and a Cheminee Philippe wood fire, glass on both sides, between the lounge and the dining table. Leather sofas face the fire and the bay window. Kindling and firewood are supplied. The kitchen has stone benches, a long island and double ovens. Folding doors open to a covered deck with an outdoor dining table, and a side balcony looks across the lawn to the hills. Sleeping Main bedroom: king bed and an ensuite with a walk-in rain shower. Second bedroom: queen bed with French doors to the lawn. Third bedroom: two single beds, good for kids or friends. Downstairs common room: queen futon, a piano and doors to a ground-level deck. It works as a fourth sleeping space or a second living room. The family bathroom has a bath, a walnut vanity and a skylight. All bed linen and bath towels are included, and beach towels are in the laundry. Outside The infinity pool is solar heated and looks over the vines, with loungers on the deck. The parterre kitchen garden has vegetables and herbs for you to pick, and there's an outdoor shower beside it for after the beach or the pool. Comfort Split-system heating and cooling throughout, electric blockout blinds in every room, Netflix on the TVs and a sound system you connect from your phone. The house runs on solar panels with Tesla battery storage.
Other Details to Note
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. The house is split level with stairs throughout, including floating stairs from the entry, so it may not suit guests with limited mobility. There's no BBQ, because of the fire risk in this rural area. The double ovens are there instead. Amberley is on a septic system. The 1-ply toilet paper you need is supplied. Mobile coverage drops out in parts of Shoreham. The wifi at the house is good.

Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
Shoreham sits on the southern Peninsula between Westernport Bay and the hinterland farms, and it's still quiet and uncrowded. Pt Leo Estate, with its sculpture park, restaurant and cellar door, is within five minutes. Ten Minutes by Tractor, Montalto and plenty of other wineries are a short drive, and Ocean Eight is along Tucks Road itself. Flinders is the nearest village, with a general store, a hotel, cafes, Flinders surf beach and the coast walk to Bushrangers Bay. Red Hill has its Saturday market and farm gates. Peninsula Hot Springs, Cape Schanck Lighthouse, the national park and the golf courses are all within an easy drive.
Guest Access
The whole property is yours: three bedrooms, the downstairs common room, both bathrooms, the living, dining and kitchen areas, the decks and balconies, the pool, the outdoor shower and the kitchen garden. There's private parking at the house. We meet you on arrival to show you through, and again at check-out.

You'll need a car. Most wineries, restaurants and farm gates are five to fifteen minutes away, and Flinders is a seven-minute drive. The IGA in Balnarring is the handiest supermarket, and Hastings has Coles and Woolworths for a bigger shop. Melbourne CBD is about 70 minutes via the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. There's no public transport to Shoreham.
